Exercise 4: Independent Study

This exercise will will prepare you to use some of the tools you have worked with today in the context of your own practice a source of "evidence".

Instructions:

  1. Consider a scenario from you OWN practice.  Think back to one of the patients you saw last week.
  2. Write a well formulated clinical question using the PICO approach (Patient or problem, Intervention or exposure, Comparison, Outcome)
  3. Using one of the three "evidence sources" that  we have worked with today, begin to seek "evidence" that will help you answer YOUR QUESTION for YOUR PATIENT.
  4. Continue you this exercise on a regular basis to experience a new aspect to your "continuing medical education".
